The Night Before - "Baby Wanted 12 Lemons"

Well it begins, thanks to a visit with some friends who have cleansed before, (thanks Ben & Katie) I have completed my research and decided to give the 10 day master cleanse a shot. I am pretty excited writing this - and looking forward to seeing how my body reacts to this 'no food' thing. I have spoken to a ton of people over the last few weeks that do this all the time, so I am pretty confident I will make it through the full 10 days - amazing how you can live for 30+ years and never hear about something so many people do.

I have purchased a ton of Organic Lemons (holy expensive produce Batman) - Jennifer Aniston would be proud , Vince Vaughn has nothing on me.

Starting tomorrow AM - My diet for the next 10 days will consist of RO (reverse osmosis) water, some green and laxative herbal teas, and a Lemon Drink which consists of :

  • 2 tablespoons FRESH squeezed lemon or lime juice (approx. 1/2 lemon)
  • 2 tablespoons genuine organic maple syrup, Grade B
  • 1/10 teaspoon (a small pinch!) cayenne pepper, gradually increase (the more BTUs the better)
  • 300 - 500 ccm (10-14 oz) pure water

I have also purchased some Hoodia Extract - to control hunger pangs, the stuff was super expensive so I hope it works and keeps me from hunting the neighbours Weiner dog (named Clyde) which I am sure will begin to look tasty come day 3.

Although the Cleanse is not a diet and meant to clear toxins and nastiness from your internal nether regions, apparently you can drop a few pounds while on it. So I am logging my weight here on the blog daily.

Night before starting weight - 180.8 pounds.

A lot of people asked me to let them know how it goes, so I decided to blog the journey to allow you to follow along. Enjoy the blog and my certain misery - but be warned I am sparing no details as to what goes in or comes out of my carcass over the next 10 days and the inevitable return to solid food.

Tips, comments and encouragements are greatly appreciated and welcome - especially from those long time cleansers.

Cheers.
